One of two animated crash zoom sequences for the feature film Getaway.   Other than Google maps there was no aerial photographic reference. Much of it had to be hand textured for adequate detail.   I created a set extension and a series of detailed matte paintings at various elevations.  I then composited and animated the matte paintings in Nuke, integrating them with the plate as the camera moves up into space.  To see the final sequence in motion click here.

One of two animated crash zoom sequences for the feature film Getaway.   There was no aerial set photography or any other photographic reference other than Google Maps.  I created a series of detailed day-for-night matte paintings including 3d projections of the hero buildings to account for parallax.  Displayed here are 3 of the matte paintings, the plate, and some 3d buildings which I modeled in Nuke and textured in Photoshop.   To see the final sequence in motion click here.
